What is an Asian Handicap?

With an Asian Handicap bet type you bet on the team you think will win or spread your bet between both teams, taking into account the nominated handicaps.

Note: The nominated handicap may be adjusted from time to time. However, the handicap current when you confirm your bet is the handicap you have bet on, irrespective of the final handicap offered.

If a whole number is used for the handicap, the handicap adjusted final score could result in a draw. With an Asian Handicap, a draw is known as a push and you are refunded part or all of your original wager.

Asian Handicap is only available with Soccer and is resulted at the end of the 90 mins (90M) match.

Note: 90 MINS (90M) INCLUDES INJURY / STOPPAGE TIME. (Extra time and penalty shootouts are not included as part of the 90 mins (90M) result).

Detailed Explanation

The nominated handicap is applied on a match by match basis and is aimed at making the chance of either team winning (considering the handicap) as close to 50% as possible.

Handicap

Description

Home 0.0
Away 0.0

With a 0 handicap the teams are considered equally likely to win. You are betting without the draw being an option. You win if your selected team wins. If the match is a draw, your stake is refunded.

Home +1.0
Away -1.0

A bet on the Away (-1.0 handicap) team means your team needs to win by at least two clear goals for your bet to win. If your team only wins by one goal (creating an effective draw when the handicap is included), your stake is refunded.
A bet on the Home (+1.0 handicap)(+1) team means you win if the team wins or draws. If your team lose by just one goal your stake is refunded. This is a good bet if you fancy an underdog to get a result. Even if you are wrong, if they can limit the defeat to just one goal you don’t lose.

Home -1.5
Away +1.5

A bet on the Home (-1.5 handicap) team means you win if the team wins the match by two or more goals.
A bet on the Away (+1.5 handicap) team means you win if the team wins, draws or loses by one goal

Double
Home 0.0/-0.5
Away 0.0/+0.5

In double Asian Handicap betting the wager is split in two.
A bet on the Home (0.0/-0.5 handicap) team means you win if the team wins by one goal or more. If there is a draw you lose 50% of your bet stake. The other 50% of the stake is refunded.
A bet on the Away (0.0/+0.5 handicap) team means you win if the team wins the match. If there is a draw, half your stake is refunded and half is a winner.

Double
Home -0.5/-1.0
Away +0.5/+1.0

A bet on the Home (-0.5/-1.0 handicap) team means you win if the team wins wins by two or more goals. If it wins by one goal, half your stake is refunded and half is a winner at the odds taken.
A bet on the Away (+0.5/+1.0 handicap) team means you win if the team wins or draws the match. If it loses by one goal, 50% per cent of your stake is refunded.

Simple Example

Home

Liverpool 0.0

Away

West Ham United +1.5

Explanation

West Ham is starting the game with a 1.5 goal lead. If the final score is Liverpool 2, West Ham 1, a bet on West Ham wins with the final score (considering the handicap), Liverpool 2, West Ham 2.5

Double Example

Home

Liverpool 0.0/-1.0

Away

West Ham United 0.0/+1.0

Explanation

If you bet on West Ham and the final score is Liverpool 2, West Ham 1, 50% of your bet loses and 50% of your stake is refunded because there is an effective draw with the second part of your bet.
